In 2007 a friend of mine gave me a Power Hour DVD.  It was an hour long DVD that would play a sequence of 60 second movie clips. I thought it was a cool idea but one that would get old and boring after a few viewings. I decided to test the limitations of the DVD format to create a power hour that played 100 different movie clips on shuffle so that every time you would play it would be unique. And to help you keep track of what shot number you were on I would put a short, beer themed Simpson’s clip between each movie clip that played in sequential order. 

Back then you couldn’t download movies all that easily so I would rent DVDs and rip the clips I needed.  The final DVD has 99 movie clips, 100 Simpson’s clips, 1 montage of people saying “Go Fuck Yourself”, 6 menu clips, 17 bonus clips, and the maximum number of scripts you could write in DVD Studio Pro.

I released the Greatest DVD Ever in March 2008 and sold about 600 of them along with a few branded shot glasses.

A decade later I decided it was time to release the sequel.  Using Unity to create a standalone app for Mac and PC, I made a Holiday themed Power Hour.  It features 75 different clips from holiday movies, tv and music videos and has 60 clips from The Office Christmas episodes to keep your shot count.
